GTA fans rejoice — the world-renowned DJ and production duo has released “FK IT” — a long-awaited ID and festival-favorite that has had fans clamoring for an official release across social media and online forums since the duo first started playing it out in early 2017. Over the past two years, the elusive “FK IT” has continued to rattle stages and rile up crowds across clubs and festivals, but the wait is finally over: GTA’s “FK IT” is out now and streaming everywhere via Mad Decent.
“We made this track as a new intro for our Ultra set two years ago!” GTA says of the track’s origins. “We wanted to bring back the ignorant club track mentality where random sounds seem to come out of nowhere, but add a fun aspect to the song, haha, an ignorant track banger so we just said FK IT!”

With over 2.7 million monthly Spotify listeners, multiple international tours, and collaborations including Vince Staples, Tinashe, Baauer and more, GTA proves to have the credentials to successfully crossover musical genres. Their versatility and unique sound were recognized by fellow superstar DJ Diplo, who first featured them on his 2012 Express Yourself EP, later signing them exclusively to his label Mad Decent.
The dynamic duo has had incredible opportunities to tour with Rihanna, Calvin Harris and Tiesto, as well as having performed in many music festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra, EDC and Tomorrowland. With half of GTA being Cuban and the other Honduran, they have always made it a point to sample their culture influences in their music, while remaining faithful to their mission statement “Death to Genres” and allowing no limits on their musical creativity.
Born and raised in Miami, FL, Julio Mejia and Matt Toth – better known as GTA (an abbreviation for Good Times Ahead) – have gained an unprecedented level of respect and notoriety in the dance and electronic world over the past few years as purveyors of moombahton, a fusion of reggaeton and electronic music. GTA’s latest EP La Nueva Clásica was released on Diplo’s Mad Decent label in October of 2018. An immediate crossover success in the Latinx and dance communities and beyond, the EP features collaborations with artists such as Dominican rap star Jenn Morel (“Buscando” has since soundtracked the popular Samsung Galaxy Note9: Fortnite Victory Dance commercial) Tisoki, Godwonder, VERSANO, Moska, and more.
