  • Tell us about the first track that put you on the map in the electronic scene and the journey since. How did you get started?

I was DJing an afterparty at SnowGlobe Music Festival opening up for Sofi Tukker. It was my first time DJing (I was in an electronic experimental band at the time) and honestly it was an atrocious set lol. But Sofi Tukker were backstage listening and asked me to go on tour with them opening up on their first headline US tour. I learned how to DJ in front of people failing night after night until it just finally starting clicking. Learning how to read a room as a DJ is really helpful in becoming a creator of dance music. The first track I released, Amber Rose, helped put me on the map. It is clubbier than what I would make now but it is a bop non the less 😉

  • Tell us about your latest project ‘Meet Again’ Featuring Little Boots

This track has been such a cathartic release. I made the track on a train in Vienna while the snow was falling last December heading to meet up with Sofi Tukker for a gig we had there. I took over a table and brought out my drum machine, TB3 synth bass (which I tour with as part of my live show) and midi controller and laid down the track. I sat on it for a while until the pandemic hit. I had 42 shows cancelled in 3 months and was longing for collaboration so I sent it to Little Boots. She had just heard the queen of England give a speech about staying home and safe and one day we will meet again. And boom – the song was born. I sent it to Sophie and Tucker and they were the first ones to believe in it and release it. They released it on their label, Animal Talk. Such a wild journey to birth that track. Feels really special that it is connecting with so many different people right now.

  • Tell us something we wouldn’t normally find out about you?

I am a trained and certified Doula

  • What single night out has been most memorable for you as a dj and producer?

I played a gig in a garden in Berlin until 6a last summer… what a golden evening.

  • Give us the name of one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you listen to it?

New New New Bob Sinclar (feat. Vybrate, Queen Ifrica & Makedah) [Nico De Andrea 2016 Remix]

Listen on Spotify!

  • Dream collaboration and why?

Nora En Pure – the other queen of piano house 😉

  • If you could play any festival, which would it be?

Blond-ish’s festival Abracadabra. I have gotten to do a few streaming shows with them and i can only imagine how special the community is in person

  • How do you get a track started? tell us about your production process

I usually start with the percussion by creating an 8 bar loop that feels locked in / groovy. Then I start playing piano chords on top and see if I can get a loop that feels like home.

  • Upcoming projects? What are you currently working on?

I have a release coming out on DND Recordings beginning of August, another release on Thrive end of August as well as 2 in September. And there is an exciting collaboration that I will be announcing soon ! I also just launched our onlineFemme House courses !

  • The relationship between a dj and the audience is crucial, and yet is seems to be a fragile one – how do you see the balance between giving the crowd what they want and treating them to something new?

You first have to get them to trust you. Play solid good music with solid good mixes and then you can take them on a journey. I find it similar to making love.
